A história de sucesso da SISTAC
The SISTAC success story
SISTAC’s history is a journey of overcoming obstacles, innovation and an unwavering entrepreneurial spirit. Founded in 1995, the company began its diving and climbing activities with a clear goal: to be a benchmark in safety and quality in the Oil & Gas industry. From the beginning, safety was a non-negotiable priority, guiding every step and decision.
In 1997/98, SISTAC took an important leap forward by introducing ACFM in Brazil, expanding its capabilities and starting new diving activities. This milestone not only consolidated our expertise, but also opened new doors for growth and innovation.
The year 2005 was a watershed. For the first time in Brazil, we performed an underwater repair on Petrobras platforms without interrupting production. This achievement demonstrated our technical capacity and our determination to overcome challenges, placing us at the forefront of innovation in the sector.
In 2007/08, SISTAC’s entry into the ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) market marked a new chapter in our history. The integration of the ROV with the diving team to perform inspection work was a pioneering initiative in Brazil, reflecting our commitment to innovation and excellence.
We continued to expand our operations in a pioneering way in Brazil in 2009, with the construction of the SDSVs (Subsea Diving Support Vessels) SISTAC Esperança and SISTAC Vida at the shipyard. This investment expanded our fleet and operational capacity, allowing us to offer even more complete and efficient services.
In 2010, we signed a shallow water diving contract, using the SDSV SISTAC Esperança at 25 meters deep. This contract was another important step towards solidifying our presence in underwater operations and demonstrating our versatility and competence.
The year 2012 brought new challenges and opportunities with the signing of a multi-year Pull-in/Pull-out contract. This contract reinforced our position as a provider of complete and reliable solutions for the Oil & Gas sector, reaffirming our commitment to excellence.
In 2013, we began construction of the SDSV SISTAC Vitória, a 42-meter long vessel equipped with a dynamic positioning (DP) system, for which we won a service contract with Petrobras. This project highlighted our ability to deliver exceptional results, solidifying our reputation in the market.
The years 2015/16 were marked by a new cycle of growth and transformation for SISTAC. With the start of operations of the SDSV SISTAC Vitória, the Canadian investment group AXXON took control of the company, enabling a significant transition: we stopped being a family business and became a public limited company (SA). This investment not only strengthened our management, but also boosted our capacity for innovation and expansion, preparing us to face future challenges with a more robust and dynamic corporate structure.
In 2017, the SDSV Vitória operated for the first time in the IOC (International Oil Companies) market, demonstrating our ability to meet international and complex demands. We also resumed saturation diving activities, reaffirming our leadership position in the sector.
In 2018, SISTAC became the first diving company in Latin America to be certified by IMCA, an important recognition of our commitment to safety and excellence. That same year, we conducted our first saturation dive, a significant milestone that expanded our operational capabilities.
In 2021/2022, SISTAC opened the Training Center in Macaé to simulate operations. The center improves the emotional, physical and technical aspects of employees, with a focus on safety and risk elimination. It offers training that replicates situations at sea, improving the emotional intelligence of professionals. In addition, it has quality infrastructure for technical and behavioral development, ensuring quality, agility, excellence and safety in the organization’s practices.
In 2024, SISTAC entered into a partnership with OCEANTEACH to provide a revolutionary solution using robotics, aiming to solve problems of offshore installation operators in the challenging tidal variation zone (ZVM).
At each stage of our journey, SISTAC’s determination, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit have guided us. Today, we remain committed to excellence and overcoming challenges, always ready to meet the needs of the sector with innovative and safe solutions. Our history is a testament to our dedication and relentless desire to exceed expectations, consolidating our position as leaders in the Oil & Gas market.
